SPAGHETTI WITH MEATBALLS
Ingredients:
For the Meatballs:
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. ground pork
2 Tbsp Joy’s Mediterranean Spice Mix
½ cup chopped fresh parsley (save some for garnish)
½ cup chopped yellow onion
¼ cup parmesan cheese
¼ cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
For the Sauce:
1 jar Joy’s Marinara Sauce (or any of the other 3 flavors)
For the Pasta:
1 lb. spaghetti
Salt for pasta water
Freshly grated parmesan cheese, for serving
Extra parsley for garnish
Instructions:
Prepare the Meatballs:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, Joy’s Mediterranean Spice Mix, chopped parsley, chopped onion, parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
Form the mixture into medium-sized balls, about 2 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until they are fully cooked and browned on the outside.
Cook the Spaghetti:
While the meatballs are baking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente (firm to the bite).
Drain the pasta, reserving a cup of pasta water, and set aside.
Prepare the Sauce:
In a large skillet or saucepan, heat Joy’s Marinara Sauce over medium heat.
Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the sauce, gently stirring to coat them evenly. Allow the meatballs to simmer in the sauce for 5-10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Combine and Serve:
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the sauce and meatballs, tossing to combine. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
Serve the spaghetti and meatballs hot, garnished with freshly grated parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of chopped parsley.
