Joys Garlicky Scallops

GARLICKY SCALLOPS

Seared scallops, nature's perfect bite-sized treasure, boast a subtle sweetness and a delicate sear. One taste, and you'll understand why they're a restaurant favorite. Now, you can recreate this exquisite dish at home! Imagine the look on her face when she walks in to find a plate of these luscious scallops waiting, ready to be enjoyed with a glass of crisp chardonnay or pinot grigio.

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb (5-8) large sea scallops

  • 2 Tbsp of Original Joy’s Gourmet Garlic Spread

  • Italian breadcrumbs

  • ¼ cup teriyaki Sauce

  • 4 Tbsp chopped fresh Thyme

  • 3 Tbsp of Joy’s Gourmet Extra Virgin Olive oil

  • Asparagus

Preparation

Cover the scallops with Joy’s Gourmet Garlic Spread on all sides. Dip each scallop in the breadcrumbs on the flat edge.  In a skillet heat up the olive oil, place scallops in skillet for one minute.  Flip over and add the teriyaki sauce. Wait one minute and flip one more time for 30 seconds.

Remove the scallops from skillet and continue to reduce the sauce until thickens, about 5-7 minutes.  Add the cilantro and mix with the sauce.

Steam the asparagus and keep warm until serving.

Plating:

Place scallops on top of the steamed asparagus in plates, drizzle the sauce over them before serving.  It is always good to have extra sauce to serve on the side.
